CAS

CAS is an abbreviation for Cells Alive System, a special freezing technology. It is a revolutionary system that uses magnetic field energy to vibrate cells, allowing them to be frozen and preserved as if they were alive (alive) without destroying them (cells). Normally, when quick-frozen products are thawed, dripping occurs, which causes the loss of flavor and moisture, but frozen products frozen using CAS do not lose their flavor when thawed, and retain their freshness and taste for a long time.

The town of Ama introduced CAS in 2005 as a trump card for the promotion of local industry, and is now able to deliver fresh seafood such as white squid and rockfish caught in Ama to consumers in distant cities. Ltd., which was established as a third sector of the town, sells CAS products both domestically and internationally under its own mail-order brand, "Shimakaze-bin.
